NatureLand’s Amber Ale Wins Gold
February 28, 2006 -The Pacific Western Brewing Company, based in Prince George, BC, has won Gold at the 2005 Brewing Industry International Awards, held in Munich, Germany. Natureland Organic Amber Ale was entered in the awardsto compete in the “International Ale Competition”, and was the only Canadian Brewer to win a medal in the category, as well as in the entire competition which hosted 9 categories and 27 classes. Natureland Organic Amber Ale was recently introduced to the British Columbia market, and is now available in BC Liquor Stores. This beer is unique in many ways. As an extension to Natureland Organic Lager, it is certified organic by the OCIA-Organic Crop Improvement Association. Natureland Organic Ale is brewed with 100% organic two row malt, 100% organic Hallertau Hops and the pure spring water fromthe pristine Caribou Spring. All ingredients are certified organic including the water which is sourced through a certified organic process. Natureland Organic Amber Ale was theoutcome of many test brews by brew master Kelly Olson. Much to his joy, we won gold. The Brewing Industry International Awards is considered the world’s top professional beer competition and is held every two years. This competition has acolorful history stretching back 119 years. Originally held in the UK, this was the first time the competition was held outside -Munich, Germany. The judging process brings together the top practicing brewers in the industry today. The winners are truly judged by their peers and fellow competitors.
